Carolyn Yvonne Hinson Jordan, 77, of St. Pauls died Sunday May 30, 2021 at her home. She was born on April 2, 1944 in Robeson County, NC to the late Chester Burnes and Beatrice Hinson. Carolyn will be remembered by many for so many reasons:
Carolyn owned and operated a puppy kennel beside her home for years where she raised, sold and groomed small breed dogs. She also owned and operated a small pet store in downtown St. Pauls. She ran a very popular clothing boutique in Red Springs for several years and worked for a local tv and radio station where she was very successful selling advertising across the region. She retired in 2008 and was most proud of her role as Office Manager at Ken Banks Attorney at Law in Fayetteville NC for over 10 years. Carolyn was a cub scout leader in St. Pauls when her boys were younger. She was a second mom to many of her son’s friends who would come over regularly throughout their childhood. She loved to dance and for several years, enjoyed competing as she honed her ball room dancing skills.
Some of her classmates will remember her as homecoming queen. She was a true southern belle with a kind heart and loving soul and she loved working in her yard planting flowers. When finding the perfect spot for her bird houses, she loved to sit in the swing and watch them. She had a love for the Victorian era and everything about it. When her home was damaged beyond repair by a hurricane, she chose to build her dream home that fit her taste perfectly. She was a woman of faith, loved her small church, Rozier Baptist, and adored her entire church family. She served as the church treasurer and enjoyed every minute of it.
Carolyn loved her brother Jerry and the mention of his name always brought a smile. When her mother, Bea, became ill she was an amazing caregiver. If you saw Carolyn out and about in town all you had to do is look next to her and see her mother, Bea. Her greatest loves, though, were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was happiest when everyone came over for gatherings for birthdays, cookouts and holidays. She was such a kind and loving person and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her brother, Jerry Hinson; children, Michael Jordan and his wife Brenda, Scott Jordan and his wife Carma, Todd Jordan, and Kevin Jordan; grandchildren Kaiya Jordan, Ainsley Batten, Kerri Jordan, Todd Jordan Jr., Courtney Jordan, Austin Jordan, Evan Jordan, Carmen Jordan, and Summer Jordan; great grandson, Jaxon Jordan; nephews, Bryan Hinson and his wife Rae-Ann and Amy Weymouth and her husband Ronnie; and great nephews Caleb Weymouth, Jacob Weymouth, and August Hinson.
