Frederick Bodenheimer

Frederick Nash Bodenheimer, Jr., 67, of Parkton, North Carolina died Friday March 10, 2017 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC. He was born in Cumberland County at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center October 27, 1949 to the late Frederick Sr. and Berline Bulla Bodenheimer of Parkton. A graduate of Parkton High School, he attended Sandhills Community College earning an Associate of Arts degree. While attending college he worked at the McCain Youth Center as a Counselor. In 1970 he met his future wife, Sandra C. Williamson. They were married in Henderson, NC on July 4, 1971. After graduation, Freddy and Sandra made their home in Parkton, where they managed and operated “The Little Inn”. Eventually he became an EMT and joined the Robeson County Ambulance Service. Freddy was one of the Founding Fathers of the Parkton Rescue Squad. As a 16-year-old, he joined the Parkton Volunteer Fire Department in 1965 and later served as Assistant Chief. When he could no longer serve as an active fire fighter, he served on the Fire Department’s Board of Directors for many years. Freddy, also, worked at Womack Army Hospital as an EMT and later as an appointment clerk in the Orthopedics Department. In 1983, Freddy and Sandra welcomed their first child, a son Daniel, followed a year later in 1984 by daughter Casey. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Frederick Nash and Berline Bulla Bodenheimer and a half-sister, Pat Peterson of Houston, TX. He is survived by his wife Sandra Williamson Bodenheimer; son, Daniel Bodenheimer of Parkton; daughter, Casey Bodenheimer of Oak Island; niece, Dana Cobb of Houston, TX and several cousins. A Visitation will be held Monday March 13, 2017 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Parkton Fire Department with Funeral Services scheduled for Tuesday March 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Parkton Fire Department with the Reverend Teresa Rutledge officiating. Burial will follow in Parkton Cemetery. Arrangements by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls.
