Joyce Gibson

Joyce Cox Gibson, 85 of Bladenboro and formally of Saint Pauls, passed away July 11,2019. Joyce was born in South Carolina on January 22, 1934 to the late Edward Cox and Thelma Huestess Cox. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Saint Pauls.
Most people who knew her either as Mama Joy or Grandma. She was a loving caring person who was the epitome of kindness and acceptance. She was the go to person for loving advise or just to talk about your problems. She retired from Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. She was the person who named their gift shop Magnolia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred E. Gibson, grandson Ron Allen, sister Christine Willoughby, and brother Billy Cox. She is survived by her son Fred Elbert Gibson, Jr. and his wife Billie Jean of Saint Pauls, daughters Alice Allen and husband Phil of Tar Heel and Susan Kinlaw and husband Kenny of Saint Pauls; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grand-children; brother James Cox of Charleston, SC and sister Carol Sherrill of Jacksonville, Florida.
The family extends a special thanks to West Bladen Assisted Living and Hospice.
