Linwood Hayes, 68, of St. Pauls died Tuesday April 5, 2016. Born October 18, 1947 in Red Springs to the late James Woodrow and Ethel Freeman Hayes, he was raised in Hoke County. He received his agricultural degree from North Carolina State University and spent his early years in farming. Once retired he became the owner and master greeter at Tarpackers Restaurant in St. Pauls. An avid golfer he was, also, a proud Poppy. He is survived by his wife, Sara B. Hayes; daughter, Dr. Jana Watts and her husband Terrence Greene; granddaughter, Gabriela; brother, David Hayes and his wife Patricia; sister, Linda Melton and the wonderful customers and friends he enjoyed at Tarpackers. A graveside Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday April 10, 2016 at 3:00PM in Raeford Cemetery with the Reverend Pat Hash officiating.
