Anderson Jackson

Anderson Hoyt "Tinker" Jackson, 92, of St. Pauls, North Carolina, died Tuesday May 20, 2014 at his home. A native of Robeson County, he was born May 20, 1921 to the late Hoyt Wallie and Susan Oliva Taylor Jackson. A US Army Veteran of World War II, he served in the campaigns for New Guinea and Luzon, receiving the Philippine Liberation Medal with a bronze service star and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Campaign Medal with 2 bronze services stars. Additionally, he was awarded the American Theater Campaign Medal, the Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the St. Pauls VFW Post. Initiated into St. Pauls Masonic Lodge 474 in 1948, he was Master in 1954 and continued to serve the Lodge in a variety of capacities throughout his life. In 2010 he was awarded "Life Member" for service in St. Pauls Chapter 70 of the Order of the Eastern Star. A faithful and energetic member of St. Pauls Presbyterian Church he was recognized as an "Elder Emeritus" in 2014. Professionally he worked in the financial services industry serving as Branch Manager of Guaranty Savings and Loan in St. Pauls. He is survived by his wife, Ann; sons, Andy Jackson and his wife Darlene, Gary Register, Michael Register and his wife Robbie, and Robbie Register and his wife Holly; daughter, Becky Sue Milliron and her husband Robert; brother, Robert Jackson and his wife Ula; sisters, Christine Smith and Barbara Reese; grandchildren, Robin Perrone, Olivia Register, Hillary Brewington, Madison Register, and Christopher Register; great grandchild, Skyler Register; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Friday May 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM in St. Pauls Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Dr. Sue Hudson officiating. Masonic Funeral Rites will follow in the church. Burial will be in Tolarsville Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by an Honor Guard from Ft. Bragg. Visitation will be Thursday May 22, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM in McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls. Arrangements by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home, St. Pauls, North Carolina.
