Bernice Faye Hopkins, 73, of Lumber Bridge, North Carolina died Friday February 4, 2011 at her residence. She was born January 16, 1938 in Walker County, Alabama to the late Fint and Maybell Mattison Wiggins. For many years she worked with her late husband, Almon Chester Hopkins, in managing Hopkins Nursery and Aviary in Lumber Bridge, specializing in breeding exotic birds. She is survived by sons Charles David Hopkins, Stanley Earl Hopkins, Almon Anthony  "Tony" Hopkins, and James Edward Hopkins; sister, Nellie Rice; and16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The family will received friends at the residence of Stanley Hopkins, 79 Wayside Drive, Red Springs, NC 28377 Saturday February 12, 2011 from 5:00  until 8:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday February 13, 2011 at 3:00 PM at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home, St. Pauls.
