Billie Ruth Hickman

Billie Ruth Henderson Hickman, age 81, of St. Pauls, was born March 16, 1942, in Hoke Co. N.C. to the late Billy Robert Henderson and Doris Virginia Graham and departed this life on May 1, 2023, at UNC-Southeastern, Lumberton N.C.

In addition to her parents, Billie was preceded in death by her husband, William Iverson Hickman; a brother, Robert Wickliffe Henderson and sister, Joann Henderson McDonald.

Billie leaves to cherish her memories, her son, James Robert Hickman of the home; a sister Peggy Fields and husband, Harold of St. Pauls; four grandchildren, Amanda Locklear and husband, Ronnie and Billie Ann Hickman all of St Pauls, James Hickman Jr. of Florida and Dustin Hickman of Lumberton, N.C; numerous great-grandchildren and with a host of relatives and friends.

Billie was a U.S Army veteran and an educator with the Public Schools of Robeson County, retiring after teaching over 30 years. Billie was also a devoted Sunday School teacher at both First Baptist Church and Great Marsh Baptist Church. Billie will truly be missed by all who knew her.
