Carl Carpenter, Jr.

Carl Edward Carpenter, Jr., 76, of Fayetteville, North Carolina passed away on August 20, 2013 at his home. He was born September 18, 1936 in Fairview, Ohio to the late Carl E. and Ellen Hardesty Carpenter, Sr. He grew up in the Guernsey County, OH area. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 49 years, Agnes Locklear Carpenter, and a son Michael at the age of 36, he is survived by daughters, Evelyn Brandicourt and her husband Damien of France and Joanne Caputo of Carthage, NC; sons, Reverend Kenneth Locklear and his wife Connie of Fayetteville, Carl E. Carpenter, III of California, David Carpenter of Newport, Oregon and Jimmy Groves of Fayetteville; sister, Judith Tipton and her husband Dick of Senecaville, OH; brothers, James Carpenter and his wife Gail of Colorado, William Carpenter and his wife Joy of Zanesville, OH; cousins, Kay Hardesty of Chattanooga, TN and Von Hardesty of Staunton, VA; 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Carl is, also, survived by a special friend, Emma Smith. Visitation will be Thursday August 22, 2013 from 7:00-9:00 PM at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls with Funeral Services scheduled for Friday August 23, 2013 at 10:00 AM in Faith Assembly of God, 109 Evans Road, St. Pauls, NC. Burial will follow at 12:00 Noon in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 400 Murchinson Road, Spring Lake, NC. Arrangements by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home, St. Pauls, North Carolina
