Carolyn McKay McGoogan, 91, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Duncan Lee McGoogan passed away on Tuesday,

Carolyn was born
September 11, 1924
in Saint Pauls, North Carolina, daughter of the late William A. McKay and the late Eva McGirt McKay. She graduated from Saint Pauls High School and from Flora McDonald College in Red Springs, North Carolina. During her lifetime, Mrs. McGoogan and her husband lived in communities of Davidson, Charlotte, Southern Pines and Wilson, North Carolina. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother and faithful friend to many. She was a gifted vocalist who sang frequently at church and with the Charlotte Oratorio. She was a member of the Hadley Chapter of the DAR and a member of the 17th Century Colonial Dames. She was a faithful member of Christ Community Church in Wilson, NC and since 2008, attended Life Park Church in Mt Pleasant, SC. Carolyn had been a resident since 2008 at The Palms of Mount Pleasant. Carolyn was known for her deep faith in her Lord and for her devoted prayer life. She will be remembered for the countless homemade meals, visits and letters sent to others to make a deeply memorable difference in their lives.
Carolyn is survived by a daughter and a son: Jane McGoogan Wilson (Victor) of Black Mountain, NC and Duncan Lee McGoogan, Jr. (Sharon, nickname "Boo") of Mount Pleasant, SC. She has four grandchildren; Carolyn Wilson Baughman (Michael) of Tryon, NC, Katherine Wilson Mason (Sean) of Tulsa, OK, Bonnie Caroline McGoogan of Mount Pleasant, SC and Alexander Duncan McGoogan of Mount Pleasant, SC. She also has two great grandchildren, Ellie McKay Baughman and Jack Wilson Baughman, both of Tryon, NC.
Memorial donations may be made to Christ Community Church, 5160 Packhouse Road, Wilson, NC 27896 or a charity of personal choice.
