Charles Huggins

Mr. Charles Tucker Huggins, 74, of Saint Pauls, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, January 4th, 2012 at his home. He was born May 4, 1937 in Bladen County, North Carolina to the late George Frank and Civil Susan Britt. Mr. Huggins is survived by his wife, Sybil Taylor Huggins of St. Pauls and two children, Charles Terrill Huggins and his wife Beverly of Saint Pauls-Lumberton, and Samantha Huggins Thornton and her fiancée Larry of Broadway, and grandson, Dalton Scott Thornton and his companion Angie Grant, and granddaughter Victoria Alexis Huggins. Three siblings, David Huggins and Edna Bramble of Parkton, and Lois McMillan of Saint Pauls. Visitation will be Saturday, January 7th from 6-8pm at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home in Saint Pauls. Funeral services will be Sunday, January 8th at 2pm at First Baptist Church of St. Pauls followed by internment at Gardens of Faith in Lumberton. Officiating will be Pastor Pat Hash and Reverend Dean Carter. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Pauls First Baptist Church or the charity of one’s choice. Mr. Huggins retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 from the North Carolina Army National Guard after thirty-nine years of service. He was a lifetime member of the North Carolina National Guard Association. He was a member and deacon of Saint Pauls First Baptist Church. He was a member and an immediate past president of the Saint Pauls Lions Club, member of the Gideon Society, and member of the Woodmen of the World.
