Claude Fisher

Claude Franklin Fisher, 74, of St. Pauls, NC, was called home to be with his Heavenly Father Saturday November 16, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Robeson County June 2, 1939, the son of the late Berdell Fisher and grandson of the late Billy and Sue Fisher. He retired from Civil Service and was a retired NAF employee of Ft. Bragg. He served 35 years in the NC Army National Guard, retiring as First Sergeant. Mr. Fisher was a Charter Member of the Big Marsh Volunteer Fire Department and served on the Board of Directors, served for many years on the Robeson County Parks and Recreation Commission, was an active member of Great Marsh Baptist Church and coached Little League baseball and football in St. Pauls. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 53 years, Sylvia Riddle Fisher; daughters, Joy Fisher Inman of St. Pauls and Teresa Fisher Blackwell and her husband Mike of Mauldin, SC; son, Claude F. Fisher, Jr. and his wife Lisa of New Braunfels, TX; grandchildren, Johnathan Inman and his wife Jamie, Chelsey and Connor Fisher and Madison Blackwell. A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday November 20, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Great Marsh Baptist Church, St. Pauls, with the Rev. Paul Langston officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday November 19, 2013 from 6:00-9:00 PM at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Great Marsh Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Jimmie Britt, 644 E. Great Marsh Church Rd., St. Pauls, NC 28384, in lieu of flowers.
