Daniel Whichard, known to so many as Wayne, passed from this world on June 13, 2021 at the age of 71. He was born in Bladen County on April 29, 1950 to the late George David and Annie Barfield Whichard. Wayne wore many hats in his life. Man, Husband, Father, and Friend. He gave all of himself into providing for his family and never refused anyone who asked for his help. Even after retiring he never stopped working and providing. He served in the US Navy on active duty in the late 1960s and in the reserves into the mid-1970s, and had over 40 years’ experience as an electrician, mechanic, and maintenance professional. He could repair and rewire just about anything. A humble man that after an all-day project for a friend or even a stranger would refuse payment. He would say just buy me something to eat and we’ll call it even.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Anne Powers Whichard; son, Steven Whichard; and sister, Marilyn Cashwell.
