Doris Sutton

Doris Holloman Sutton, 81, of St. Pauls passed away March 18, 2017. She was born in Wake County, the ninth child of Jim and Ethel Holloman’s eleven children. She graduated from Barker Ten Mile High School in 1953. She was employed by the Town of St. Pauls for 33 years, retiring in 1993 as Town Clerk. She was later elected and served as Town Commissioner from 1997-2009. Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Earl; her parents; siblings, Arthur, Ben, Bessie, Harvey, Pat, Addie Mae, Ethel Mae and Raymond, she is survived by two sons, Mike and wife Beckie of Raeford and Steve and wife Rhonda of Gray’s Creek; eight grandchildren, Josh Sutton, Sara Rigsbee, Caleb Sutton, Andrew Sutton, Laura Sutton, Carter Sutton, Emily Sutton and Makayla Sutton; three great grandchildren, Dallin Hutchinson, Evan Rigsbee, and Nash Sutton; one sister, Edna Carroll, and one brother, Ralph Holloman. A special thank you to Melissa McClain. A visitation will be held Monday March 20, 2017 from 6-8 PM at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls. Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday March 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Great Marsh Baptist Church, with burial following in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
