Earl Lindbergh Tyner, 90, of St. Pauls, NC died Monday January 8, 2018 at his home. He was born in Robeson County, NC June 16, 1927 to the late Benjamin and Belle Davis Tyner. Known as “The Pumpman”, it’s been said that he could dowse and find water anywhere. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Wilton Tyner, D.H. Tyner, Carl Tyner, Charles Tyner and Robert Tyner; sisters, Sadie Tyner White and Ola Mae Tyner Jackson. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Prevatte Tyner; children, Edward E. Tyner and his wife Wanda, Vickie Monroe and her husband Stuart, Sharon Humphrey and her husband David, Richard Tyner, John Tyner and his wife Susan, Gary Tyner and his wife Tammy and Donna Tart and her husband J.C.; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother, George Tyner and his wife Anita; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to caregivers Michelle Gallagher and Vicky Parker and the HealthKeeperz Hospice Staff for the loving care provided to Mr. Tyner. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday January 13, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Great Marsh Baptist Church with the Reverend Don Goforth officiating. A Visitation is scheduled for 2 hours prior to the service, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, also at the church. Burial will follow in Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.
