Ethelene J. Shaw

Ethelene Johnson Shaw, 87, of Rex, NC died Friday December 13, 2024 in her home with her family at her side. She was born December 27, 1936 to her loving parents, the late Henry and Docia Johnson. During her life she worked at Burlington, Faberge, and United Management, but most of all she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and nanny. She was an active member of Rex Presbyterian Church, and loved her community, family, and spending time outside. 

She is preceded in death by her late husband Benjamin “Franklin” Shaw. 

She is survived by a sister, Volene Britt; two daughters, Carmen Shaw and Jane McNeill and husband David; grandchildren, Margaret Carlene Finley and fiance Elliott Hollifield, Joseph Franklin Shaw and wife Leigh Anne, Kimberly McNeill Tirpak and husband Tyler, and Mitchell David McNeill; Great Grandsons, Franklin Asher Shaw and Troy Niall Tirpak, an additional granddaughter Karrie Schulte and husband Ricky along with their children, Willow, Knox, and Rhett and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a dear caregiver and friend, Bettie Glover. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Rex Presbyterian Church, care of Carmen Shaw, 2318 Shaw Rd., St. Pauls, NC 28384, in lieu of flowers. 

A Graveside Service is Scheduled for Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. in Rex Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with a visitation in the Church Fellowship Hall one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home.
