Franklin Blackwell

Franklin Delano Blackwell, 81, of Hope Mills died 8/21/2018. He was born 11/6/1936 in Bladen Co. to the late Vernon and Sadie Durden Blackwell. Preceded in death by his mother and father, Sadie and Vernon Blackwell; sisters, Virginia Phillips, Mary Ward and Christine Canady; and brother, Benson Blackwell, he is survived by his wife, Alice Seals Blackwell; children, Vicki Christian and her husband Guy, Gary Blackwell and his wife, Chris, Kenneth Blackwell, Angie Lee and her fiance Mike, and Danny Blackwell and his wife Sandra; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Austine Phillips, Louise Martin and her husband Jimmy, Vernon Neal Blackwell, Ronnie Blackwell and his wife Peggy, Micheal Blackwell, Kathleen Chavis and her husband Everton, Deborah Wearins and her husband Miles; Bonnie Blackwell, Betty Blackwell and Deaven Smith; and step-mother, Thelma Blackwell. Funeral services will be held Friday 8/24/2018 at 12:00 noon at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls with a visitation one hour prior, from 11-12:00. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605 or the charity of ones choice.
