George Wienand

October 1, 1942 — May 11, 2017

George Wienand, 74, of Hope Mills, NC died May 11, 2017. He was born October 1, 1942. As a young man George joined the Army. He served his country and was proud to be a paratrooper. While stationed at Fort Bragg a blind double date would introduce him to the love of his life, Ann. Ann and George were soon married and raised three boys, Gary, Michael, and Steven. George was a hard worker. He did not sit still and you could often find him working in his yard. He was the family's handyman. He could fix anything. George loved his family. He and Ann were inseparable. Where you saw one you saw the other. George adored his grandchildren and they adored him. George will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Ann; sons Gary and wife Jennifer, Michael and Steven; three grandchildren Alan and wife LeeAnna, Morgan, and Ethan; and one great grandchild Alana.
