Herbert Prevatt

Herbert (H.C.) Cleveland Prevatt, 83, of St. Pauls, died peacefully in his home on the evening of Monday March 8, 2021. He was a man that dearly loved his family and friends as well as his church family at Second Baptist Church in St. Pauls. A hard worker that couldn't stand to sit still, he retired from Kelly Springfield in Fayetteville after 28 years of service. In his free time he was always spending time with family, watching his favorite old westerns or NCIS, and walking or riding around town with his dog Jack. He was and will always be dearly loved by his family and friends.
H.C. was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Sadie Prevatte, his wife Peggy, and his sisters Annie Ruth Pate and Ruby Lyde. He is survived by his son William Prevatte; his daughter Angela Strickland and husband Raymond; granddaughter Crystal Benton and husband Steven, great-granddaughter Caitlyn; sister Mary Beard and husband Bill; sister Bess Willis and husband Don; and sister Betty Freeman.
There will be a private family viewing on March 10, 2021.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Oakridge Cemetery on Thursday March 11, 2021 at 2:00 pm to be officiated by Pastor Larry Wilkes.
All services will be overseen by McNeill-Mackie Funeral Home.
