James Edward Hall, Jr., 86, of Parkton, NC died Thursday July 5, 2012 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center . A native of Parkton, he was born September 9, 1925 to the late James E. and Hattie Webb Hall, Sr. During WWII he served with the U.S. Marines Corps in the Occupation of China and upon his discharge he enlisted in the NC Army National Guard where he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. He was an accomplished pilot and loved rebuilding old cars. His greatest love was his family and he was exceedingly proud of his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Brown Hall, to whom he was devoted. Other family members include daughters, Ann Smith and her husband Terry and Beckie Sutton and her husband Mike; son, Jimmy Hall and his wife Denise; and 6 Grandchildren and 8 Great grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday July 8, 2012 from 1:30 PM – 2:45PM at Parkton United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, with Funeral Services at 3:00 PM at the Church, Reverends Teresa Rutledge and Gil Wise officiating. Burial will follow in Parkton Cemetery. The family suggests Memorial contributions to Parkton United Methodist Church, 183 E. Third St., Parkton, NC.
