James Edward “Jimmy” Shaw, Sr., 88, of Rex, NC died at his home October 4, 2017. He was born in Rex, October 8, 1928 to the late Norman Bethune and Annie Jane Bristow Shaw. A life-long member of Rex Presbyterian Church, he was a US Army Veteran serving as a Military Policeman. He retired from Law Enforcement having served as a Robeson County Deputy Sheriff and a Probation/Parole Officer. He is survived by his loving wife of 65+ years, Daphine Thompson Shaw; sons, Eddie Shaw and his wife Debbie of Rex, Mike Shaw and his wife Kathy of Angier, and Ronnie Shaw and his wife Janet of Rex; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and special care givers, Malissa Steen and Shannon Weber. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday October 5, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home with Funeral Services being held Friday October 6, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Rex Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Bebe Briggs officiating. Burial will follow in Rex Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Arrangements by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls.
