Jerry Guthrie

Jerry Allen Guthrie, 66, of St. Pauls died Wednesday February 7, 2018 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was born March 23, 1951 in Coshocton County, Ohio to the late Donnis Leroy and Mary Hawkins Guthrie. A veteran of the Vietnam conflict, he retired from the United States Air Force following a 20 year career of service. Among other awards he earned the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with device and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. A member of the Tolarsville Community since 1992, he attended Tolarsville Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Dayna Alexander Guthrie; daughter, Tiffany Cain and her companion Dean; grandchildren, Billy DeRoo and his wife Mykayla, Amanda DeRoo, and Emilee DeRoo; his special dog, BJ and cat, Monkey; and cousins. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday February 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Tolarsville Baptist Church with the Reverend Jeff Broadwell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors being rendered by a United States Air Force Honor Guard. The North Carolina Patriot Guard will be providing a flag line during the visitation and at Tolarsville Baptist Church in honor of Mr. Guthrie's service to his country.
