Laura Walters

Laura Kinlaw Walters, 93 of Saint Pauls, NC, passed into her eternal rest on July 30, 2020.  She was born April 29, 1927 in Columbus County, NC.
She had many gifts and talents, serving her community through nursing, hospitality, sales and textiles. She and her late husband, Neal A. Walters, were Co-founders of Carolina Baptist Church in Saint Pauls and she served faithfully as pianist for over 45 years. Mama Laura, as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Thelma Kinlaw; her husband of 67 years, Neal A. Walters; her siblings, Melba Keene, J.L. Kinlaw, Winford Kinlaw, and Kay Davis; and a daughter Cathy Walters. Left to carry on her legacy are two sisters, Joan Myott and Frealon Six (husband William); a brother, C.E. Kinlaw; daughter, Carolyn Walters Martin (husband Jimmy); and three sons, Billy Driggers (wife Terri), Chuck Walters, and Ron Walters (wife Audrey); and daughter-in-law Hazel Walters; grandchildren, Jamie Brisson, Billy Brisson, Ray Owens, Jennifer Goodwin (husband Dougie), Beth Henderson (husband Randy), Billy Driggers, Jr. (wife Claudette), Nikki Roberts (husband Ed), Stephanie Molovinsky, Charles “Chuckie” Walters (wife Kellie), Sonja Smith (husband Donnie), Dawn Barton, Shawn Barton, Julie Foreman, Michael Walters (wife Melody), Bridget Thornton (husband Shaun); as well as a multitude of great and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Saturday, Aug 1, 2020 from 6-8:00 at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home, Saint Pauls, NC.  Celebration of Life funeral service will be held Sunday, Aug 2, at 3:00 at the chapel of McNeill Mackie Funeral Home and officiated by Charleston Guyton, Pastor of Butters Baptist Church and Beth Henderson, Founder of Naomi’s House Ministries.  Internment to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Saint Pauls.
