Lon Junior Furr

Lon Junior Furr, age 80 of St. Pauls was born November 27, 1944 In Stanley Co., NC to the late Lon Lee Furr and Pauline Furr and departed this life, January 17, 2025 at McWhorter House Hospice Center in Monroe surrounded by his loving family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Lon is preceded in death by his five brothers, Gene Furr, Ephraim Furr, Roger Dale Furr, Boone Furr, Joe Furr and Jack Furr and three sisters, Clara Hatley, Nina Furr and Sarah Love.

Lon leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved pet dog, China; one brother, Charlie Davis Barbee of Midland; two sisters, Brenda F. Morgan of Stanfield and Mable Hartsell of Oakboro; his close friend, Reuben Dale Andrew White and wife, Teri of St. Pauls; nieces, Donna S. Huneycutt, Becky Harris, Eugena Hatley, Gay Love and Kannika King; nephews, Tim Summers, Wade Summers, Lawrence Hatley Mark Hatley and Gary Love, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Lon was a proud Army Veteran and retired from being an over the road Truck Driver after nearly 50 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a diehard Duke Basketball fan. Lon enjoyed spending time with family and friends and enjoying a good meal. He will be truly missed.
