Mary Lorraine Pate, 84, of St. Pauls died Wednesday January 7, 2021. She was born March 9, 1936 in Bladen County to the late Bronson and Mary Faircloth Bozeman. She worked for Burlington Industries as a Spinner. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, St. Pauls Chapter 70. Lorraine was a member of First Baptist Church and, also, attended services at Second Baptist Church in St. Pauls. She sang in the choir and belonged to Women On Misson. She loved traveling, shopping, decorating and crafts. She especially loved participating in the decoration of First Baptist Church for Vacation Bible School. She loved people, loved making people feel welcome and her philosophy was “the more the merrier”. She was preceded in death by her parents Bronson and Mary Faircloth Bozeman; first husband, Charles Norris; daughter, Kathy Mabrey; and brothers, Ed Arnette and L.C. Bozeman. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Pate; daughter, Mary Jackson and her husband Bobby; stepdaughter, Pam Tilafago and her husband George; four grandchildren, Eva Hardesty, Lisa Marshall and her husband Billy, Jordan Jackson and his wife Jessie, and Stephanie Stokes; step grandchildren, Scott Tilafago and his wife Nicole and Ashley Woods; 10 great grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren; brother, Calvin Bozeman and his wife Elaine; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service is scheduled Wednesday January 13, 2021 at 11:00 am at Great Marsh Baptist Church with the Reverend Pat Hash officiating. Burial will follow the service in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family is in the care of McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls.
