Lottie Dell Riddle Shaw, 86, of Hope Mills died Saturday 12/21/2013 at her home. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon Tuesday 12/24/2013 at Parkton Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall with funeral services scheduled for 12:00 Noon in the Church Sanctuary. Private family burial will follow. Born during the Great Depression, she was daughter to a farmer and a school teacher. She was a daughter, a sister, a cousin, a wife, an aunt, a mother, a grandmother, a great grandmother, a friend, a co-worker, a neighbor. She wore many hats: Lottie was a foster parent, a sorority sister, a Sunday School teacher, a great cook. She worked the polls at local elections, and was a Red Cross volunteer as well as a volunteer at a homeless shelter and a soup kitchen. She was a friend of Bill W.'s. She worked many years in public service and as an office manager. She is survived by son, Thomas Shaw and his wife Colleen; daughters, Sandra Kuebler, Amanda Shaw Forte and her husband Donald, Julie Shaw Idol, and Rebecca Shaw Watts and her husband Ricky; grandchildren, Doug Skipper, Jonathan Odom, Sally Shaw-Owen and Amanda Allison Watts; one great grandchild, Jude Odom; and a sister Sara Neal Justice. The family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of one's choice in lieu of flowers. Arrangements by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls.
