Mabel Stevens Shaw (Mae-Mae), 92 of Parkton, North Carolina passed away Tuesday March 7, 2017. She was born in Hoke County, NC November 5, 1924 to the late Tom and Libby Quin Stevens. Mabel worked in retail sales her whole life, starting at age 14. She was employed by Fleishman’s Big Store in Fayetteville for 30 years followed by working with Virginia Crabtree and Belk’s, finally retiring at age 80. Mabel’s most prized possession was her family whom she loved dearly. In addition to her parents, Tom & Libby Stevens, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hector Shaw, Jr.; brothers, Thomas, John, Clyde, and Bobby Stevens; and granddaughter, Susan Malloy. She is survived by her daughter, Sue Finley and her husband Benton; grandson, James “Jay” D. Malloy and his wife Kay; Margaret Finley and Joseph Shaw; Great grandchildren, Blake Malloy, Jayla Malloy, Brandigan Hunt and Kalem Sampson; special family member, Brock Finley; cherished neighbor for over 60 years, Barbara H. Hall and family; and many nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held Friday March 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Rex Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastor Rob Price officiating.
