Margaret Smith Hyatt, 72, of Fayetteville, NC died Saturday April 15, 2017 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton, NC. She was born in Robeson County, NC on June 4, 1944 to the late Arthur CB Smith and Roxy Elizabeth Galloway Britt. She was a self-employed business woman who loved gardening. She was very involved in church activities and served as a deacon at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC. She demonstrated great love for her family and her children described her as a “great Mom”. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Franklin Hyatt. She is survived by sons, Victor Hyatt, John Ashley Hyatt and his wife Beverly and John Charles Hyatt and his wife Kimberly; daughter, Marie Grice and her husband Ricky; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; brothers, Wayne and Jimmy Smith; and sisters, Florine Efird, Midget Johnson, Kaye Lovette and Sue Baxley. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Wednesday April 19, 2017 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 3350 Butler Nursery Road, Fayetteville, NC 28306 at 2:00 PM with a visitation scheduled 2 hours prior to the service, from 12:00 Noon -2:00 PM with the Reverend Scot McCosh officiating. Burial will follow in Big Rockfish Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Hope Mills, NC. Arrangements by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls.
