Marion Gordon "Buddy" Westbrook

Marion Gordon (Buddy) Westbrook, 89, of St. Pauls, NC passed away on Wednesday, 29 January 2025 at his home surrounded by his beloved family.

Buddy was born January 2nd, 1936 in Johnston County NC to the late Hubert and Rosa Westbrook . He is preceded in death by his loving wife Olga; brothers James (JD) and Robert and sisters Geraldine (Gerry) and Barbara. 

Buddy was a devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather. He was loved by his extended family as a Brother, Uncle and cousin and was friends with everyone he met. He proudly served the citizens of St. Pauls as a Town Commissioner and Mayor for over 40 years. Buddy loved working for Burlington Industries and did so for most of his life except for an enlistment in the Navy, where he served on the USSS Lookout as a Radarman. He was a devoted member of the 2nd Baptist and 1st Baptist Churches for many years. 

The family will receive friends at McNeill-Legacy Funeral Home on Sunday February 2, 2025 at 1 pm. Funeral service will immediately follow in the McNeil Legacy Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in St. Pauls, NC. 

He is survived by his sons Douglas Westbrook (wife Kippir) and Gregory Westbrook; grandchildren Kayla Westbrook and Justin Westbrook (Doug), Courtney Bradford and Caitlin Westbrook (Greg); and his four great grandchildren Bexley, Amelia, Ryker and Troy. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either First Baptist or Second Baptist Church of St. Pauls, NC.
