Melba Inman

Mrs. Melba Inman, 84 of 91 Paulownia Drive, went into the arms of her beloved Savior at her home Friday July 22, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Inman was preceded in death by her parents Hubert Sion Holder and Alda Martin Holder, husband Henry Allen Inman and sister Clara Holder Wilson. She was a retired seamstress and along with her husband owned and operated Inman Auto Service in St. Pauls, NC.  She was a member of Great Marsh Baptist Church, in 1962 she became a member of Eastern Star in Darmstadt, Germany and served as Worthy Matron and secretary along with other positions for the next 53 years.  When interest emerged in restarting an Eastern Star Chapter in St. Pauls, Mrs. Inman and her husband were instrumental in its re-organization and she served as its first Worthy Matron.  One of her greatest joys was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 26, 2016 at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and all other times at the home.  Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Wednesday July 27, 2016 at Great Marsh Baptist Church, burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. She is survived by her two daughters, Linda West (OJ) and Susan Strickland (Bill); five grandchildren, Janna Reynolds (Joey) of St. Pauls, Gary Byrd (Rachel) of Ocean Springs, MS, Amanda Bertsch (Kory) of St. Pauls, Jason Strickland (Charlotte) of Nashville, NC, and Tracy Nicholson (Matt) of Wilmington;  ten great grandchildren, Ryne Reynolds, Everette Ford, Madison Ford, Macey Reynolds, Kendall Byrd, Austin Bertsch, Knox Bertsch, Olivia Greene, Kinsley Nicholson and Brennan Nicholson; one great great grandchild, Riley Reynolds and sister Ruby Flanary and brother Sherrill Holder (Myrtle).
