Mildred Louise Britt, 93, of Plantation, FL died Tuesday December 27, 2011. A native of St. Pauls, NC, she was born August 25, 1918, a daughter of the late Lee Sanford and Belle Terry Britt. She relocated to Miami, FL in the late 1950’s and lived in the El Portal area. While in Miami she worked in the research department of Jackson Memorial Hospital and had been a member of Allapattah Baptist Church. After moving to Covenant Village in Plantation, she joined the Worship Center. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister Evelyn Lee Britt, who died July 29,1981 and by a cousin Reverend Bobby Melvin, who grew up in St. Pauls. Survivors include cousin Robert Earl Parnell and his wife Josie of Parkton and 7 other cousins; cousin-in-law, Harriet Melvin of Lumberton; and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Saturday January 7, 2012 at 9:30 AM at First Baptist Church, St. Pauls, with the Reverend Pat Hash officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Local arrangements by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home, St. Pauls.
