Nancy will be missed by all who knew and loved her, but she leaves a legacy that will not soon be forgotten. She will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend…a beautiful lady inside and out. All who knew her always remarked about what a kind and loving woman she was and what a sweet spirit always shone through.
Nancy was born and raised on the Isle of Pines, Cuba, and loved sharing her memories of her years spent there on the farm. She was active in her church, First Baptist of Tarboro, where she served faithfully for the past 23 years. She especially enjoyed her involvement with the Tar River Players, acting in numerous plays throughout the years. She and Neil shared a love of clowning and became known as “Dan and Fancy”, much to the delight of both children and adults. Nancy was an avid collector, especially of dolls, hats, miniatures, and antiques. Her children and grandchildren have always loved exploring her home to see what new items had been added to her collections. Genealogy, needlepoint, relief carving, walking, and volunteering in the community helped to round out what was a truly fulfilling and remarkable life.
