Nannie Johnson

Nannie Juanita Johnson, 97, of Stedman, formerly of St. Pauls died Tuesday July 23, 2019 with family at her side. She was born on January 30, 1922 in Bennettsville, SC to the late John C. and Daisey Mae Hutchens Huggins. She was married to the late Robert E. Johnson Sr. and life partner Joseph Baxley. She was a spinner at Cumberland Mills and a member of Community Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. She wanted all to know that her greatest accomplishments and rewards in life were that she was a good mother and loved her family of 9 children and grandchildren to the 4th generation totaling 200 individuals. She said God had blessed her to be a part of so many generations and the ones to follow. She said her father, mother, two brothers and sister were a family of which she was proud. The memories she gave were memories embedded in the hearts and minds of us all. Preceded in death by sons, Walter Garnett Johnson of Clinton, Samuel Van Johnson of Fayetteville, Thomas Allen Johns of Fayetteville and Roland Earl Johnson of Hope Mills, she is survived by her brother Marion Huggins and his wife Carolyn of Grays Creek; sons, Robert E. Johnson of St. Pauls and John Wesley Johnson and his wife Sheila of Grays Creek; daughters, Ann Dove and her husband Chuck of St. Pauls, Barbara Pulse of Stedman, and Janet Edge and her husband James of Hope Mills and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. A visitation will be held Saturday July 27, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Green Springs Baptist Church, 1095 E. Green Springs Road, Parkton, NC 28371 with a memorial service scheduled for 3:00 pm, also at the church with the Reverend Steven Kirk and Reverend Bobby Bunnells officiating.
