“Nora Sykes was a humble woman with a gentle heart and the calmest voice that could speak to you. But if you were in the wrong about something she had no problem telling you about yourself. My grandma wasn't one for a crowd of people or being the center of attention, she never wanted much except to see her family. All the money and gifts didn't matter only seeing her family made her happy. Grandma was in everybody's corner whenever you had something going on; grandma was always there whenever you got told no you could always count on grandma although you would get a lecture at first, but that was only cause she had nothing but tough love. Grandma, I love you and miss you, I know you had to go on to a better life far from here just as well as we have to go on with ours without you. So watch over us and we will see you again soon.”

Love, AJ

“Grandma, I'm sad that you are gone but I know that you are finally at peace. Throughout all my faults you never turned your back on me, because that’s who you were. You were a loving woman who had a huge heart. You will be missed grandma.... tremendously. I love you with all my heart.”

Love, Akela
