Pamela Powers Sealey, age 73 of Parkton was born July 2, 1950 in Scotland Co., NC to the late William Keller Powers and Geraldine Mitchell Powers and departed this life to her eternal home on September 9, 2023 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.
Pam grew up in the Parkton Community and attended Parkton High School. After graduating high school, Pam continued her education at Lees McRae Junior College in Banner Elk, there she graduated with an Associate in Arts Degree in 1970. Pam knew she wanted to become a teacher and decided to continue her education at Appalachian State University, graduating in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. After graduation, she returned to Parkton and starting teaching 5th grade at Peterson Elementary School in Red Springs and later moving to Red Springs Middle School. In June of 2003, Pam retired from the Public Schools of Robeson Co. after teaching for 30 years. In 2004 she came out of retirement and taught several more years.
Pam was a member of Parkton Presbyterian Church in Parkton where she became a member on April 10, 1960. She served the church in several capacities including Ladies Sunday School Teacher, Women’s Circle Leader, Historian. In 2002, Pam was ordained and installed on the Board of Deacons. She also served as Moderator of the Service Committee and Secretary of the Deacons.
Pam leaves to cherish her memories and mourn her passing, one son, William Robert Sealey of Hope Mills; two grandsons, William Brandon Sealey and Waylon Robert Sealey; two sisters, Sandra Powers Jackson and husband, Nelson of Parkton and Kelly Powers Skinner and husband, Jim of Williston, North Dakota; two nephews, Matthew Jackson and James Skinner; two nieces, Samantha Pechtl and Haley Skinner, also a host of other relatives and friends.
