Patsy Hughes Hall, 88, of St. Pauls died Sunday December 13, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 2, 1932 in Dillon, SC to the late Walter B. and Virgie Mae Norris Hughes. She was a homemaker with love of family and her Lord. A woman of faith, she was a member of Regan United Methodist Church. When asked if she liked gardening, the reply was that she loved cooking for her family and made everyone else do gardening. Patsy liked soap operas, especially The Young and the Restless, Wheel of Fortune, and Everyone Loves Raymond. She knew every episode of Little House on the Prairie and even read the books, along with her children. She loved reading autobiographies and her Bible. She was an avid fan of the Duke Blue Devils and focused her energy on her family, especially the grandkids and great grandkids. Around her house, when there were any sibling arguments Patsy would intervene by reminding everyone that their house was “a house of love and respect”. Preceded in death by her parents, Virgie Davis and Walter B. Hughes; husband of 63 years, Billy F. Hall; sister Joyce Zindel; brother Gerald Hughes; and a great grandson Luke Wingenbach, she is survived by a son Larry Hall and his wife Vicki of Cary; daughters Sue Carroll and her husband Jerry, Brenda White and her husband Jimmy, Teri White and her husband Andy all of St. Pauls and Bunny Smith of Wright City, MO; grandchildren, Tina Godfrey and her husband Tim, Jerry Carroll and his wife Stephanie, Kristy Wingenback and her husband Andy, Jason Hall and his wife Anne Hunter, and Ashlie Inman and her husband Kolbey; great grandchildren, Josh Eggers and his wife Sarah, Jac Carroll, Kylie Wingenback, Seth Wingenbach, Kason Inman, and Barrett Hall; and great great granddaughter Macie Lianna Eggers. A private family graveside service is scheduled. McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls is serving the family.
