Ralph Bryan McDaniel, Sr., 72, of Lumber Bridge died Friday March 18, 2016. He was born December 23, 1943 in Mullins, SC to the late Silas Ralph and Sadie Daniel McDaniel. He moved to Fairmont, NC as a child and was the Valedictorian of the 1962 graduating class of St. Pauls High School. He attend the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. Mr. McDaniel served as King of the 1957 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas. He was the owner of Eastern Advertising and later fulfilled his passion as an Innkeeper in the North Carolina mountains. Preceded in death by his guardian parents, Homer and Ethel Hammond of Lake View, SC, he is survived by his wife of 49 years Ann Malloy McDaniel; sons, Ralph Bryan McDaniel, Jr. of Reno, NV and Hammond Malloy McDaniel and his wife Catherine of Alexandria, VA; 3 grandchildren, Maxwell, Murphy and Vidrine; sister, Betty McDaniel Hedgpeth of Greer, SC; and one niece and one nephew. The family will be receiving friends and family from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Sunday at the McDaniel home. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church, Lumberton at 12 noon.
