Raymond Fields passed away at his home surrounded by family on Wednesday June 17, 2020. He was born in Shannon, North Carolina to Luther and Edna McDuffie Fields on September 7, 1935. He retired as a letter carrier from the U.S. Postal service on October 4th, 1992. After retirement, Raymond enjoyed traveling to classic car shows and growing collards. He also worked security at the Cumberland County Crown Coliseum and at Dupont. He was preceded in death by parents Luther and Edna McDuffie Fields; brothers Gordon, James, and Roy Fields; sisters Lessie Kinlaw and Elsie Smith. He has survived by his wife of 63 years, JoAnn Willis Fields. Sons Michael (Lauren) Fields of Virginia; Richard (Patricia) Fields of St. Pauls; daughter Nancy Baker of Benson. Five Grandchildren: Suzanne Lozoya (Eddie) of Raleigh; Micah Fields of Orlando, Fl; Monica Fields of Winston-Salem, Anna Fields Hopkins (Hunter) of Newport News, VA; Aaron Fields of Newport News, VA and one Great-Grandson Hayes Lozoya. A graveside service will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery in St. Pauls, NC on Friday June 19th at 2:00pm.
