Rev. John Thomas Britt, Jr., age 89 of St. Pauls, North Carolina was born November 19, 1934 in Robeson Co. to the late John Thomas Britt, Sr. and Mary Etta Butler Britt and departed this life to be with his heavenly Father on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at his residence.
In addition to his parents, Rev. Britt is preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Faye Britt Oxendine; one son, Jerod Britt; two sisters, Linda Mae Britt Allen and Betty Rose Britt Dowless and one brother, Rev. James “Jimmy” Britt.
Rev. Britt leaves to cherish his memories and mourn his passing, his loving wife, Brenda Walk Britt of the home; six daughters, Frances Elizabeth “Lib” Britt and Marilyn Britt of St. Pauls, Sharon “Ann” Britt Jackson of Fayetteville, Brenda Britt Labador (Jerry) of Parkton, Mary Rebecca “Becky” Britt of Lumberton and Jacqueline Hopkins (David) of Winston Salem; four sons, John Thomas Britt, III (Ivy) of Lumberton, Christopher “Kerby” Britt (April), Curtis Vance Britt (Tammy) all of St. Pauls and Phillip Avery Britt (Angie) of Dublin; one brother, Willie Franklin Britt of Lumberton; two sisters, Margaret Nance and Henrietta Lee both of St. Pauls; 26 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren; he is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
Rev. Britt was a preacher of the Gospel and pastored the St. Pauls Chapel of Jesus for 47 years.
The family will receive friends for Rev. Britt on Tuesday March, 12, 2024 from 6-8p.m. at McNeill Legacy Funeral Home in St. Pauls. The Funeral will be conducted Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Pauls Chapel of Jesus located at 72 Hummingbird Lane in St. Pauls; burial will follow in the church cemetery.
