Richard Earl Fisher, 85, of St. Pauls, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.
Richard was born on November 16, 1936 in Bladen County to the late Clarence and Margaret Fisher. Richard was a member of the First Baptist Church of St. Pauls. He worked for Burlington Industries for over 40 years before retiring. He was a member of the St. Pauls Fire Department for 40 years. He served as Chief of the department for over 20 of those years.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by two brothers, Delton and Ed Fisher; a niece, Karen Fisher; and a nephew, Charles Fisher.
Richard is survived by Flora Fisher; a brother, Roy Fisher; a sister-in-law, Jean Fisher; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Steve Leeds and Rebecca and Paul Wise; three grandchildren, Jared Leeds, and Jacob and Reagan Wise; a nephew, Malcolm Fisher; and a host of other family members and friends.
Family will be receiving friends Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 2:00 at the First Baptist Church of St. Pauls. The funeral service will follow at 3:00. Burial will immediately follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Richard will have Fire Department honors at his services.
