Richard Philip Fulghum, 48, passed away Friday November 24, 2017. A native of St. Pauls, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Claude and Elizabeth Askew Fulghum. A 1987 graduate of St. Pauls High School, Richard worked for twenty-five years in the restaurant industry, and was the general manager of One North Restaurant in Chicago, Illinois for many years. He also worked in restaurants in Baltimore, Minneapolis, and most recently in the Greenville, South Carolina area and was a member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church, St. Pauls, NC. A graduate of The North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, NC, Richard enjoyed many artistic expressions, including decorating many of the restaurants that he served. Surviving are one sister, Janet Mize and her husband Doug of Greer, SC; three nieces, Rachel, Mary Katherine and Kayla Mize all of Greer; an aunt, Janet Sipple of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and a close friend, Melanie Sirois of Chicago, IL. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday December 9, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of St. Pauls, with the Reverend Pat Hash and Dr. Doug Mize officiating. Family will receive friends immediately following the service. There will be a private family burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Loflin-Walker Christmas Fund.
