Robert Streight

Bob was born in Lincoln, Illinois to a first generation American Mother. His Grandparents arrived in America from Austria as newlyweds. He graduated from Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, Illinois with a Theological degree and a Marketing degree. Bob was an ordained Minister. As a senior in high school he was selected in 1962 for the Young American Retailers Program and was trained and mentored by Mr. J. C. Penny. This began his lifelong career in the Christian Retail Marketplace. He was Vice President of the Retail Bookstore Division for the Zondervan Family Christian Bookstores. He then ventured out on his own and started the Bob Streight Design Group. He designed the award winning Christian Booksellers' Association "Stores of the Year" award - year after year. Bob was a Bible Teacher, Motivational Speaker, Workshop Leader and a "Certified Color Futurist" as recognized by the International Color Merchandisers. Bob knew that the LORD gifted him with the ability to discover 37 design principles that he named "The Formula". When applied,this formula produced highly effective book and media environments in the Christian Bookstore Industry. His goal was to get as many Bibles and Christian Books as he could to people. Bob loved the LORD and his lifelong goal was to show the love of the LORD to everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna Mae Christensen and Kenneth Streight, and brother Kent Streight. Bob is survived by his wife of 29 years Cynthia Kay Streight, Step-Daughter Keila (Tyler), Step-Son Jamie (Jessica), and his 5 grandchildren: Jacob, Jared, Jade, Josie and Jordan, a sister-in-law Dorothy Streight, niece Lisa Dixon and nephew David Streight. A visitation will take place at 11:00 AM, Monday, at Parkview Church, in Palm Coast, FL. Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service of Bunnell, FL is in charge of arrangements in Florida. A Graveside Service will be held Friday May 10, 2019 at 4:00 pm at the Harry Smith Family Cemetery on Townsend Road in St. Pauls, NC. Local arrangements by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls.
