Roscoe Cornelius McDuffie, Jr., 69, of St. Pauls died Monday April 7, 2020. He was born in Robeson County on September 7, 1950 to the late Roscoe C. and Allie Elizabeth Davis McDuffie. He loved anything to do with the Carolina Tar Heels and was an avid Tar Heel fan. It was said that he was the kind of person who would give his heart for you if he could. He loved his grandchildren and was a proud Papa and Poppy. In addition to his parents, Roscoe, Sr. and Allie McDuffie he was preceded in death by his stepmother Dora Retha McDuffie and sister Sarah Catherine McDuffie Smith. He is survived by his daughter Kimberly McDuffie Kelley and her husband, Paul; son, Tracy McDuffie; grandchildren, Kayla and Arlie Kelley; sisters, Lena McDuffie Horne, Glenda McDuffie Johnson and her husband Harold, both of St. Pauls, Judy Smithson of Okmulgee, OK; brothers, Howard McDuffie and his wife Irene, Wayne McDuffie and his wife Cathy, both of St. Pauls, Richard McDuffie and his wife Dorothy of Red Springs, Kenneth McDuffie and his wife Betty of Lexington, and James Beard of St. Pauls; 11 nieces and 7 nephews. A family only visitation will be held Thursday April 9, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home, with a Graveside funeral service scheduled for Friday April 10, 2020 at 4:00 pm at Great Marsh Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Randy Locklear will be officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Gibson Cancer Center, 1200 Pine Run Drive, Lumberton, NC 28358 or UNC Cancer Research, UNC Lineberger, PO Box 1050, Chapel Hill, NC 27514 or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in lieu of flowers.
