Samuel Newell Booth, 72, of Rex died Thursday May 15, 2019. He was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on April 13, 1947 to Virginia Santee Booth and the late Woodson Palmer Booth, Sr. He served in the Army National Guard and was Past Master of St. Pauls Masonic Lodge 474. He liked fishing, love woodworking and was great at tinkering in his yard. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Crenshaw Booth and a brother, Woodson Palmer Booth, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Virginia Booth; daughter, Ann Marie Carter and her husband Clay; granddaughter, Samantha Turbeville and her husband Ellis; sisters, Ceri Booth and Suzie Raney; brothers, Bill Booth and Tommy Booth and his wife Bobbi Ann; sister-in-law, Gayle Hickman; his dachshund Christopher; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Friday May 17, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday May 18, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Rex Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Bebe Briggs officiating. Arrangements by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls.
