Theodore Edgar (Ted) Maness, 96, of Lumberton, North Carolina and formally of Florence, South Carolina passed away peacefully on October 18,2024 at his home in Lumberton, North Carolina.

Ted was born on May 2, 1928 in Pembroke, North Carolina. The son of the late Theodore Edgar Maness and Sadie Esther Lancaster Maness. He married Sue Stubbs Maness on December 24,1954. He and his wife moved to Florence, South Carolina in 1957 and raised their four children until moving back to Parkton, North Carolina in 1986. Ted work for the Atlantic Coast Line and CSX Railroads as a Signal Maintainer for 42 years, retiring in 1990. Ted was a charter member of Parkwood Presbyterian Church in Florence, South Carolina until moving to Parkton, North Carolina where he was a faithful member of Parkton Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Maness is preceded in death byhis wife of 67 years, Sue Stubbs Maness, his brother Billy Lancaster Maness and a grandson Duncan Rite Clark.

Surviving are his sons, Ted Maness, III (Katie) of Columbia, South Carolina, Nick Maness (Mary) of Rockingham, North Carolina, Richard Maness of Rotonda West, Florida, his daughter, Jeanne Clark (Danny) of Florence, South Carolina,Grandchildren, Tyler Clark (Jessi) of Florence, South Carolina, Elizabeth Maness of Miami, Florida and Teddy Maness of Bolder, Colorado, Great grandchildren, Mason Clark, Levi Clark, Lily Clark and Liam Clark all of Florence, South Carolina, a niece, Betsy Kinlaw of Lumberton, North Carolina and a nephew, Bill Maness of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
