Hal Wayne McDonald, 73, of Evergreen, North Carolina, formerly of St. Pauls, died Wednesday December 23, 2020. He was born in Bladen County on January 21, 1947 to the late James Boyce and Maxine Stephens McDonald. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Wayne was a truck driver for Burns Family Farms and J-Ham Farms & Grain Inc. He loved camping, especially at the Lumber River. He was preceded in death by his son, Hal Wayne McDonald, Jr.; brothers, Joseph Glenn McDonald, James Boyce “Sunny Boy” McDonald, Jr. and Paul S. McDonald; and his parents, Boyce and Maxine McDonald. He is survived by his granddaughter, Kelsie McDonald; brothers, Ronald McDonald and his wife Viola, and William Howard “Billy Mac” McDonald; sister-in-laws, Diana McDonald and Carolyn McDonald; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends. A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday December 30, 2020 at 10:00 AM in Oak Ridge Cemetery. McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls is serving the family.
