Willie Owens

Willie Mae Owens, 82, formerly of St. Pauls, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 26, 2014 in Lexington, NC.  She was born in Red Springs, NC May 13, 1932, a daughter of the late Mack and Ora Lowe Ransom. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and good friend to many. Upon graduation from high school, prior to her marriage, she served in the Women's Army Corps. Mrs. Owens was a devout Christian and member of the First Baptist Church of St. Pauls. As a military spouse, Willie Mae, resided in the Ft. Bragg area, Aschaffenburg, Germany and Ft. Sill in Lawton, OK. Upon her husband's retirement in 1967 the family returned home to North Carolina. She was employed with Hardee's Corporation, retiring as a District Manager. Family and friends nicknamed her "Crick" and "Aunt B". In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Robert Jasper Owens and son, Ricky J. Owens. She is survived by 2 sons, R. Harold Owens and his wife Patricia of Greenville, SC and Terry L. Owens of Lexington, NC; 5 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a nephew and 2 nieces. The family would like to thank the staff's of West Ana and Grayson Creek Assisted Living Homes for their loving care of Willie Mae.   A Graveside Memorial service will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery, St. Pauls, NC at 11:00 AM on Friday August 1, 2014, with Reverend Pat Hash officiating.  Local arrangements by McNeill Mackie Funeral Home of St. Pauls.
